Most group lessons are filled with 3-6 year old beginners. A large portion of classes is teaching level one, or what we call "Going underwater, and learning to put your face in the water with your body flat at the surface." Benches and the wall are used to let participants stand safely or keep themselves above the water. Young people tend to bounce around and move a lot. Sometimes they fall off the benches or slip off the wall. Ideally, this would never happen and we could ensure that no one ever slipped and fell underwater until they are ready to.

Your insights on how to handle a beginner who falls underwater are incredibly valuable. It’s so important to create a calm and reassuring environment, especially for young learners. I can see how your approach not only helps the child feel safe but also reassures parents about their child's progress. This method of clear communication and positive reinforcement could apply in various teaching scenarios, including those in gaming communities where beginners might struggle. For example, in games like Abyssus, guiding players through tough moments can foster a supportive atmosphere. Here's a great resource that aligns with that mindset: Abyssus.
